About the Author

My name is CA Leavitt (Carol Leavitt), and I’ve been a storyteller for as long as  I can remember.     From poetry and short works in my college years to the drawers and boxes filled with stories I’ve written over a lifetime, my heart has always been to capture love, joy, peace, laughter and learning and the beauty of creation so often overlooked in our noisy, busy world.

While raising my children, I wrote countless stories, poems, puppet plays, and songs to teach gentle lessons—often deeper than the “school lesson” keeping it engaging and helping my children see the small wonders woven into everyday life.

Today, my husband (aka Grandpa the Gardener) and I live on our small homestead farm in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, where we raise food and flowers, and care for animals.  We find inspiration in the steady rhythm of chores and seasons. The work, the blessings, and beauty—shapes everything I write, from prayers, to poetry, to silly rhymes and children's stories.

I am currently writing and illustrating original stories for children and families, including the   "Imagine That!" series.  Each book is painted in soft watercolor tones to reflect the warmth, wonder, and joy I hope every reader feels when they turn the page. As new projects grow, Heart & Heritage Books will continue to share stories rooted in goodness, beauty, and the simple blessings of everyday life, with the goal to create storybooks you will want to keep for generations.
